Hi, it’s me again. This time I’ll brag on myself a bit. I’ve lived a long time and done a lot of cool stuff. I’m an award-winning novelist who publishes, on average, one book a year.
My life has been devoted to the written word—poetry, fiction, and journalism. I retired in 2007 as an editorial systems coordinator for a medical publishing firm and now write full time.
Over the past thirty years, my work has appeared in dozens of publications across multiple genres. I’m perhaps best known for romance novels such as Two Weeks in August and Lights of the Heart. Bella Books carries ten of my titles, with additional works published through Regal Crest and Desert Palm Press. In total, I’ve released fourteen recent books.
My roots are also in speculative fiction. I honed my craft with the Small Press Writers and Artists Organization before turning to journalism, earning two Virginia Press Association awards. My fiction has also received honors from Writer’s Digest, Muse Magazine, and several Virginia writing groups.
During my publishing career, I rose to managing editor of two journals and later coordinated editorial systems for a Washington, DC-based scientific publication.
Beyond writing, I’ve mentored young authors, taught journalism and creative writing, judged competitions, and served on boards including the Golden Crown Literary Society, the Nelson County Education Foundation, and Literacy Volunteers of America.
I now write full time from my home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the high desert landscape continues to inspire me.
